Big Hearts & Big Thanks Luncheon

Big Brothers Big Sisters holds an annual Big Hearts & Big Thanks luncheon hosted by Golden Nugget Lake Charles as a way for the organization to recognize all of their community partners, sponsors, volunteers, and Big Mentors. They also announce their Top 11 Bowl For Kids’ Sake Fundraisers, Big Brother and Big Sister of the Year, and award those involved in Bowl For Kids’ Sake, Golf For Kids’ Sake, and the Lundi Gras Day Party.

My responsibilities covered everything from planning the event to designing, printing, and framing the certificates and awards. I was in charge of the guest list, seating arrangements, check-in, volunteer and staff duties, working with casino staff on setting up and testing the projectors, slideshows, sound, and microphones. I assisted in writing the emcee script and securing the emcee. I also designed the graphics for the invites, worked with a local printing company to have them printed, and mailed them to our guest list. Our staff handed out hand-painted bowling pins to our sponsors and top fundraisers of which were painted by myself and our staff.
